About
This dashboard provides visualizations of ice off dates, lake turnover, air temperature, snow depth, and thermocline data collected at the ELA to help researchers and staff plan their field activities and understand seasonal patterns in the lakes.
Knowing when ice off occurs is important for planning the start of the field season, while lake turnover is important for fall sampling and scientific research.
All data presented is collected from LA 239 at IISD-ELA.
Data Updates
The dashboard updates automatically with the database:
- Snow depth and air temperature comparisons use the current year as soon as data is available.
- Ice date analysis includes new annual observations when they are added to the database.
- Thermocline and lake surface temperature use the latest five years of available data.
